CAITLIN ABBOTT
VISUAL DIRECTOR
Caitlin is a stage designer and illustrator. She trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, graduating in 2018 and going on to be one of the 12 finalists for the Linbury Prize for stage design in 2019, and exhibiting her work at the National Theatre.
From 2019-2020 she worked as an Assistant Designer at the Royal Shakespeare Company, assisting on Comedy of Errors, The Wars of the Roses, Europeana and Twelfth Night. Prior to training, she worked as a designer in Fringe, Community and Student theatre for 3 years while studying for her BA in Architectural Studies at University College London.
Credits as a set and costume designer since finishing training include Autumn Opera Scenes (Guildhall School of Music and Drama); Perspective (NewViews Festival, National Theatre) Life to the Full (Short Film TenTen Productions); Time and Tide (Park Theatre); The Mullah of Downing Street (Theatre Chipping Norton, Warwick Arts Centre) ; Cuttings (Hope Theatre); Arabian Nights; Bassett and The Changing Room (the egg, Theatre Royal Bath); Vampire Hospital Waiting Room (Gilded Balloon, Edinburgh); Knitmas: A Winter Yarn (Greenwich Theatre Studio), The Elephant Man (Bristol Old Vic); The Taming of the Shrew (Circomedia), Airswimming (Apprenticeship Showcase, Theatre Royal Haymarket) .
