LEESA GAZI
CO-ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Leesa Gazi is a British Bangladeshi writer, actor, award-winning filmmaker, Co-founder and Joint Artistic Director of Komola Collective. Gazi is the concept developer, co-writer and performer of the theatre production Birangona: Women of War, which she later developed into the documentary film Rising Silence. The film directed by Gazi sheds light on the lives of rape survivors of the Liberation War of Bangladesh which has won multiple international awards. Westland Books have published hellfire, English translation of Gazi’s debut novel Routob in September 2020. Currently, she is working on her feature film A House Named Shahana.
