MIRROR EFFECT
Mirror Effect is a digital engagement project for 13-18 year-old girls, delivered as part of Transforming Narratives. The project is an exchange and collaboration between ten girls of Bangladeshi heritage in Birmingham and ten girls from Dhaka, in Bangladesh. Through a series of ten Zoom sessions, the girls used drama to explore themes such as 'City Life' and 'Female Identities'. The participants were paired up digitally, one person from Bangladesh with one person from Birmingham, to create a film together exploring the new realities of the current pandemic and its implications in their lives. Through this, we shared creativity across boundaries, building an understanding of each other's lives, cultures, and experiences. See three of the final films by our participants below.
Mirror Effect was delivered in partnership with Birmingham Repertory Theatre, and Together We Can from Bangladesh.
